Greenwich Comedy Festival – everything you need to know

Rested after Edinburgh, some of the biggest hitters in British comedy descend on Greenwich this week.

Alan Davies, James Acaster, Dylan Moran and Dara O’Briain are among those featuring in the packed Greenwich Comedy Festival which runs for five days from Wednesday, September 13-17 at the Big Top placed by the National Maritime Museum.

Adam Hills, Tim Key and Seann Walsh also feature in the 25-strong line-up.

The five-day festival of laughter runs from Wednesday, September 13-17 at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.

Festival producer Cass Randolph said: “We are pretty ecstatic about this year’s line-up.

“It’s the first time we’re bringing legends like Alan Davies and Dara O’Briain to the Big Top in Greenwich, and we’re really excited to welcome back comedy maestros Dylan Moran, David O’Doherty, Sara Pascoe and many more festival favourites who have had such amazing shows with us in the past.”

In addition to the main stage action there will be bars, street food and music.

How to get there

By car: Don’t bother. There is no public parking around the venue and very little in the town centre.

By train: The nearest stations are Greenwich and Maze Hill, both about 10 minutes from the venue. Closest station is the DLR station at Cutty Sark, a pleasant five minute walk away. Check out the TfL Journey Planner.

By river: All MBNA Thames Clippers arrive at Greenwich Pier, five minutes from the venue.

By bus:  The 177, 180, 188, 199, 286 and 386 all go through Greenwich town centre.
